Thailand Department of Disease Control reported on 2 June 2026 that digital surveillance had recorded 4,156 COVID-19 cases and one death. The report described a seasonal rise that remained below its five-year median comparison.
Variants
For samples collected between 1 January 2025 and 23 April 2026, NB.1.8.1 was the most frequently detected lineage, followed by JN.1 and XEC. The report stated that there was no evidence at that time that NB.1.8.1 caused more severe disease.
